Is it worth the wait?
If it delivers even half of what has been promised, we think it is.
We are sure it will all be delivered however, and it should be a very
important step in the progress of the product and its related
products.
One very significant benefit for Metastorm's increasingly
international market will be the Multi-Language support. That is a
crowd-pleaser in every way.
The main benefits will be the .Net application itself. This will
counter most IT reluctance when discussing SOE, as it is .Net, as
long as you are a Microsoft shop. The extensibility makes it a great
contender for the increasing array of third-party products created
using Metastorm BPM, and also make it easier to integrate with any
existing systems both in the from end UI and beck end data
repositories.
We give it a firm 9/10.
If Metastorm come through on their confident promise that this will
be their most stable release, I will give it an unreserved 10/10,
assuming all the features are in there. I think Metastorm BPM
version 9 will be a sure-fire winner, but still reserve the right to
complain about any bits we don't like, mind you!
